Caution: After 15 days, the PAN card will expire, you will have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000


If you have a PAN card, then be prepared to pay a penalty of Rs 10,000. If you have not linked the PAN card with the Aadhaar card before June 30, there will be a penalty.  The last date for linking PAN card with Aadhaar card is June 30.  A notification in this regard has been issued under Section 272B of the Income-tax Act of the Income-tax Department.

 Earlier, the last date for linking Aadhaar card with PAN card was March 31, 2020.  But Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharamal has extended the deadline to June 30 due to a lockdown caused by the Corona virus epidemic.  Apart from this, Aadhaar card is also required for making PAN card.

 According to the income tax law, if the two cards are not linked, the PAN card will expire after June 30.  A fine of Rs 10,000 will also be levied.  So link the PAN card with the Aadhaar card in 15 days.


He government on Tuesday extended the deadline for linking PAN with Aadhaar from March 31 to June 30. The government’s decision comes amid new Coronavirus outbreak that has infected over 500 people across India.

The Income Tax Department had earlier issued a public message saying it was "mandatory" to link PAN with Aadhaar. If not linked, PAN will become inoperative. One can do it through Biometric Aadhaar authentication or by visiting the PAN service centers of NSDL and UTITSL

How to link Aadhar card - Pan Card Staps Below

Step 1. Visit the Income Tax e-Filing website to link your PAN and Aadhaar

Step 2. Enter your PAN and Aadhaar number in the form

Step 3. Enter your name as mentioned in your Aadhaar card

Step 4. In case only your birth year is mentioned on your Aadhaar card, you have to tick the square

Step 5. Now enter the captcha code mentioned in the image for verification

Step 6. Click on the “Link Aadhaar” button

Step 7. A pop-up message will appear that your Aadhaar will be successfully linked with your PAN
